The Monuments
The Monuments of the Imagination Reef Project
The creation of the Imagination Reef is made possible by using the reef as a memorial site and final resting place for those seeking a meaningful journey from Cremation to Creation through a return to the oceans. There are also opportunities to sponsor any of ten monuments dedicated to unique individuals that have brought us closer to the magnificent oceans. Be it the contributions in scuba diving, deep-sea exploration, swimming, surfing, fishing, boating, or Marine Biology, the monuments are dedicated to the lives, memories, and excellence of individual purpose, love of ocean sports, and ocean sciences. Finally, there is also a monument to all individuals that were lost at sea. RIP.
The monuments serve the purpose of making the Imagination Reef Memorial site for Cremated Remains a unique place for the final destination of a loved one that recognizes the peace and beauty of the ocean. Different from scattering services, the reef provides a permanent location for a loved one. Underwater, surrounded by living marine organisms, reef fish, and color, the Imagination Reef is comforting.
The message “Protect The Ocean” and “Save Our Reefs” is stated with emphasis when attached to an Artificial Reef Project of this size. Covering 10.7 acres and created thirty-five feet underwater, the reef is just over three miles offshore of Key Biscayne, Florida.
